An operating system that provides multiterminal access with multiprogramming at each terminal. It is CP/M compatible (CP/M stands for Control Program for Microprocessor), so users can run the many programming languages, applications packages, and development software that were developed for CP/M on their MP/M systems. It offers advanced capabilities with run editors, translators, word processors, and background print spoolers working simultaneously. The real time facilities of an MP/M system either monitor an assembly line and schedule programs automatically, or else, control a network of micros.
